Dichotomous thinking is a propensity for individuals to understand events as opposites, in binary way. There are currently two inventories that accurately measure this construct, the Thinking Inventory, and Eating Disorders Scale. The present study aimed carry out review process compile all empirical studies have made use of either these instruments. To achieve goal, we carried scoping review. We conducted search using keywords “Dichotomous Inventory,” Scale,” “Thinking Style” databases PubMed, Science Direct, PsycInfo. No limits were imposed on found 19 articles met pre-established criteria; concentration research occurred last 10 years. It was possible clarify dichotomous way understanding occurs, general, presence maladaptive traits personality.
